Probably... You'll have more luck if you log out of a GUI session and
do it from a text console. It's quite unlikely that anything will be
making use of /tmp in those circumstances.
Have a look at the output from the "df -h" command. If you have a
separate /tmp directory, you'll see how full it is. And if you don't
have a separate /tmp directory, it'll be inside the root (/). In either
case, if there's plenty of free space, this shouldn't be your issue.
