can anyone out there guide me how to mount a floppy

Azeem,

Maybe the disk is damaged. However it you have
tried opening it on windows and it works then you have
a point.

Have you tried
$ gnome-mount -d /dev/fd0 ?

Is the disk formated to dos(vfat), Mac, ?
