Is there an app that will convert MP3 files to Ogg?
There are numerous such scripts I believe. Google for some options.
One that I found just by guessing is mp32ogg.
Beware that such a conversion will be lower quality than converting
from wav (or some other lossless format) to ogg. If you have the
original sources and care about audio quality, you should reconvert
them from that source rather than from the mp3 files.
Understood - I tried mp32ogg but it complained about not having the
perl-base.
I have converted my CD's to ogg and you are correct, with the very few
MP3 files I do have, there is a huge sound diff.
