Somebody in the thread at some point said:
/dev/sdb5 is mounted.

That is like a gun saying "Warning, gun is pointed at your head... Do
you really want to continue firing projectile (y/n) yes"
Whatever was on /dev/sdb5 is fixed "real good" now, bust out the backups
(but don't fsck them!)
