I never seem to get any messages about dovecot in /var/log/messages .
I opened a log-file /var/log/dovecot to get dovecot debug messages,
but this doesn't get much either.
Just a message when dovecot starts of finishes.

I tried closing the firewall with "shorewall clear"
but this didn't have any effect.
