Runs fine here with Intel 945GM. I'm using the intel driver, not the
i810 (but it should work with that one too). However, I had to turn off
the atmosphere and kwin composite support.

i don't have kwin as I a using gnome.
And il my updated googleearth I do not find atmosphere option
