Should I enable "raw file printing rules"?
Is this a change in Fedora-8?
What exactly does "raw file printing" mean?

I can print on the same printer from another laptop running Fedora-7.
I don't see any difference in the configuration of the two laptops
though I haven't checked this thoroughly.

As always, any advice or suggestions gratefully received.

/etc/cups/mime.types

see commented out sections that refer to raw printing (uncomment them),
restart cups.

Not at all new to F8, but if you have a print driver that wants to talk
directly to printer and not use postscript processing, raw is the
methodology (very typical for printing from Windows computers to Linux
shared printers).
