The saga continues. I hope I don't develop the same reputation as Karl L. ;-)

Even though I removed the fan from the ATI graphics card, a friend suggested I drop back to the standard VESA VGA X driver and see if that worked. It did. Even with screen savers and OpenGL applications the X server did not freeze.

Should I post a fedora bugzilla report for the ATI driver?

I have xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.7.197-1.fc8 loaded.
