My take is: Pretty functional system fits on one CD.
Apps you see right away (like the system updater) look
prettier and function better than the corresponding
"first impression" kind of apps in redhat/fedora.

But ubuntu is too easy! I'm currently working on installing
gentoo, and expect to have a kernel that actually boots sometime
this week so I can finish the install :-).
