FC8/FC9 : 1To hard disk doesn't work

Hello

On a linux box, I use an added card to provide sata connexions. This card is an ALI card, the M5281 Serial ATA.

On this card, I connected a 500Go hard disk sata II with no problem: the disk is recognize, no errors in the messages log file. hdparm -tT works well with this hard disk

on this card, on the second port, I connected a 1To hard disk: WDC 10EACS. the disk is recognized well but a lot of errors are written on the messages log file when I try to write a large file (36M) or to do simply a hdparm -tT on this device. The problem is the same with FC7/ FC8 and FC9.

# cat /proc/version

cat /etc/redhat-release
Fedora release 9 (Sulphur)

The problem is the same if I have only one partition (1To ext3) or two 500go ext3 .

Is there a problem with my WD hard disk ? or is it a problem with 1To hard disk sata III ?

what about 1 To hard disk and Fedora ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers
