PLUS: thunderbird/imap fails in handling mime encapsulated
message bodies with attachments. Had a message with attached
file on an imap server. Did download the attachment, in following
the message body (which is, formally, mime encapsulated too)
changes to the advertisement "message body will be downloaded
on demand" or similar. But no way to download the true message body.
Connection was mobile broadband.

Thunderbird seems to have lost the ability to open attached files (.pdf,
for example). The only option on a double click is to save the file.
Per the troubleshooting guide, I tried removing MimeTypes.rdf, but that
didn't help. There is no "open with" option at all.
Under EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> ATTACHMENTS, there is no way to add a new
type or change any actions.
Is this a problem with my installation or something more general?
