Sadly, proprietary or not, there are quite a few things going for it.

And a lot of things not going for it.

No question about that!

But its output is much better than that of the alternatives' I tried,
and it let's me view documents fullscreen under arbitrary
magnification. Both are very important for me because I read a lot of
pdfs on netbooks with small displays.
