Most likely you just need a grub reinstall. Try booting with a LiveCD or
a rescue disc (your Fedora 11 DVD will suffice for this purpose).

Thank you for your quick answer. Oddly, in the mean time, I had tried to
boot the machine under OS X (I have a dual boot setup managed by rEFFIT) and
the OS X startup hung just like the Fedora. So I booted the machine from an
Apple Systems disc and ran a harddisk tool only to find out that everything
was OK with the OSX partition on the disk holding three partitions (one for
osx, one two for Fedora). After this OS X miraculously booted AND Fedora
booted as well. Makes me think there is something funky about the disk?

Anyways, thanks for the help, and how do i do a grub reinstall should I
have to do it in the future? I boot it from a cd or dvd, and...

Thanks everyone else too for a great job with Fedora!

best,

/Henrik

Use grub-install hdx,x for reinstalling grub, where the 1st x is the number
of your harddrive (0-first hd, 1-second hd and so on) and the 2nd x is 0 if
you want to install to MBR, 1 to the 1st partition or whatever partition
your /boot is. If you do not have a /boot, then / it is.

Thanks!
