Furthermore, if you do have the package, then why is this
message in the log:

So, where is the library, if you have the package installed?
What does
ls -l /usr/lib64/dri/nouveau_dri.so
output?

I did read your reply, and I asked a question. What does the mesa
package have to do with nouveau? I just don't understand the
relationship - I don't understand why an error message regarding a
missing nouveau driver will be satisfied by installation of a mesa
driver package?
