I note that there is no wlan0 interface. So, even though the device shows in lspci no interface has been defined for it.

It seems to me that the wrong kernel module is getting loaded. Doing a bit of work on google shows that to be a common problem.

I don't have a broadcom card.... I suppose the first thing I would check is to see that all the b43 rpms are installed...

b43-fwcutter
b43-openfwwf
b43-tools

It may be necessary to then blacklist the b43-pci-bridge module.

The other question I have is What version of Fedora are you running. I don't see that module on my F16 or F17 systems.
