I am pondering if there is any legitimate reason behind adding application
name entries to "open with" submenu in right click menu in a manner like
this. I do as follows : normal click on movie file - mplayer launches. This
does not have set option "-stop-xscreensaver" (this module is buggy IMO,
that's why), so I right click on (large) movie file and "open with" ->
"open with other application" and set "mplayer -fs -stop-xscreensaver".
Next I want for example only "-fs" option for certain files, and thus
reiterate last procedure. What I end with is 2 indifferent menu objects
called "mplayer". And I have no idea (from the usability stand point) which
one does what (since the options, while fully functional, are not visible
at all).
One reasonable solution might to have a tooltip which has the list of
options, but that is a bit ugly.
I run into this problem with totem and ogg files. Sometimes I want to
just play them, sometimes I want to enqueue them (via totem --enqueue).
Perhaps the best solution is to fix totem so that it adds an Enqueue
entry to the menu for files that it is associated with.
