Nautilus use gam_server to identify when a new file is created on
hard-disk, and automatically updates the thumbnail.
$ ps -A|grep gam
2692 ? 00:00:00 gam_server
Alternatively , you can remove all thumbnails
$ rm -rf ~/.thumbnails
I vaguely remember, someone did mention on planet gnome ( i believe )
about a utility to remove only invalid thumbnails . Check on
gnomefiles.org , it might help , though not sure.
