xchat-gnome commands ?

Hi;

My xchat-gnome no longer seems able to find the commands.conf file. All
the command short cuts I have entered used to work, now I only get the
basic commands.

I checked the gconfig-editor; it's listed there
as /home/user/.xchat-gnome/commands.conf -- I think that is as it
should be, at least that is the directory where it is now.
