failsafe sessions on login screen?

On Fedora 7 if an error prevents you from logging in it tells you to try
a failsafe session.

Now I know there used to be a failsafe session available in earlier Fedoras,
but it's not in the list of choices on Fedora 7's login screen.

Where did it go and how can I get it back? I note it's still mentioned
in the startup scripts, so it's just a case of getting the login manager
to pass the right parameter(s).
