gnome-terminal

Hope I have the right list for this request I am having a problem with
gnome-terminal not launching.this is the error message I get
gnome-terminal: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1.2:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I had problems launching several apps so I rebuilt gnome emerge -e
gnome, that solved the problem for all the apps except gnome-terminal.
I am new to linux and gnome so my knowledge is limited I get what help
I need from reading.
So if you need an attachment let me know what and how
