I use ctrl-alt-del for the main menu shortcut, and it works fine.

Seems like a bug. Logout seems to not respond to any key combination set
via "Keyboard shortcut"

A temporary workaround would be to use the below

$ gconftool-2 --type string \
--set /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_1 \
"gnome-session-save --kill"

$ gconftool-2 --type string \
--set /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_1 \
"<Control><Alt>0"

Fedora is the best of what works today. Enterprise Linux is the best of
what will work consistently for the next seven years.
