Keyboard layout switch "locks" switching buttons

Hello GNOME people,
I think there's a bug in keyboard layout switching behavior.
The problem is, when I select specific button or a combination of buttons
for layout switching, this button or combination will not be "seen" by the
system even if it's present in any other hotkeys combinations.
Here's an example: if I select "Alt+Shift switches the group" option, I will
not be able to use "Alt+Shift+Tab" combination to switch to previous active
app. I'm no developer, but It's like the event listener that intercepts the
layout switching buttons, totally hides the event from any other listeners.
Another example: if I use left winkey for layout switching, I can't assign
anything to combinations like "winkey+%" because no process except layout
switcher will notice the fact that winkey was pressed.
So if it's possible, it would be great if the switcher would be fixed so it
will allow other applications to use same buttons in hotkey combinations.
Although even if it's not, I will still love GNOME :).
