them either.

I am using a system based on Debian sarge/etch, XFree86 4.3.0.1. libxext.a
libxext.so
libxext.so.6
libxext.so.6.4
are located in /usr/X11R6/lib and I can't find a hint what to do...

Is the package libxext-dev installed?

Is libxext even the same as libXext? I have libXext but not libxext
(case sensitive)?

libxext-dev is installed, and the names seem to be case-insensitive. To
renew my question: Do I have to install some special package to make
libXext a working environment? Or, if not, can I tell kde that there IS
a libXext-environment? Can I at least test whether libxext is working??
