[kde-linux] Konsole and UTF-8

How do I open a Konsole that uses UTF-8?
I want to test a console program that should run in both modes, and
would appreciate very much opening many Konsoles each one configured
differently.
My system is Mandriva2006 which is running as ISO8859-1.
Thanks,
Alain
