You might have a socket problem or a problem with
your:
"/tmp/kde-<user>" directory.

With the KDE Session NOT running:

Try deleting the contents of the directory:

/tmp/kde-<user>

and all files in:

/home/<user>/.kde/socket-<host>

and restart.
