Well, I have another clue. I can't log in to any secure site and Kcontrol
just crashes if I open it and go to the security module. So, crypto is just
broken in these packages. Maybe they're built against an incompatible
version of OpenSSL or something.
Normally some error messages are spitted out when you run such application
from the console. It may be useful to track the source of the problem down.
