Hi Robert,
I used a windows computer to install sbcglobal.yahoo.com. As soon
as the installation was complete I switched to the Linux computer.
I installed Outlook on a Windows computer which is what they said they
needed to troubleshoot the problem. I spent 3 hours with tech support with
two different people and we deleted the account, created the account over
and over and over and over again. They were finally saying it was computer,
it was because I had an older version of Outlook, etc. I completed
reinstalled sbcglobal.yahoo and I still couldn't receive email. I finally
gave up opened two gmail accounts which are pop capable. Configured
them in Kmail and everything is working fine.

of yahoo crap on it), where, I think the email password is set, then the
account is not fully ready to be used. But not sure why sending would work
then...
Maybe setting up in windows is the only option at this point.

pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com port 110 use secure connection: 'no' checked
smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com port 25 use secure connection: 'no' checked
I just set up kmail with the above settings (no choice on ports though),
and after a little while at the "checking security capabilities of
sbcglobal.net" window, I was able to just start downloading my mail.
I tried to send a test message to myself, and had to modify the account
settings and add my user name and password, then all went well.
