You are paying them money, they are expecting you to contact them when you have questions about their products and they are prepared to answer them.

Well, there's also people like me using CentOS. It has the same software as RHEL*, but without the commercial support. So for CentOS, it's up to the users to figure things out (with help from RHEL documentation) and share information.

*Well, mostly the same software. There are a few closed-source, binary only programs that come with RHEL on the "Extras" disc (like Adobe Acrobat). Since Red Hat can't distribute the source to those programs, CentOS can't recompile and redistribute them.
