Which distribution (stable, testing, unstable) are you using? Did you
install KDE from debian repos or by some
other method.

Sorry for assuming that you are using Debian. I thought I was replying to a
post on debian-user mailing list. But then later I realized that the question
is posted on a kde mailing list. In any case, providing OS info would be
useful (I think).
