Re: [kde-linux] KDE + Time Zones + Daylight-saving-time

I searched feroraforum, thanks, but my problem is not to set my
timezone, but to *make kde respect it*
Please let me explain: my if I set /etc/localtime correctly, date gives
me the correct result. But KDE will not respect it, it looks like KDE
follows /usr/share/apps/libical/zoneinfo with some configuration of it's
own.
It is just like KDE has some more configurations somewhere! Does anyone
know to configure it?
if I run date, I get the correct result, but KDE shows another time!
I posted it here because it looks like a KDE problem!!!

fedoraforum.org as well, and I believe it has to do with new daylight
savings and tzdata protocols.
If you search the fedoraforum archives (use advanced search and look
for 3 months and newer. maybe daylight savings+tzdata for search
parameters.
Good luck

PS I just moved out of Windows because of this kind of thing, but My
nightmares are back!!!

How do I configure KDE to obey the *operating system*'s time?___________________________________________________
In KDE all my machines' time are off by one hour.
KDE simply is not obeying /etc/localtime which I configured for
Daylight-Saving to end in february,25. Somehow KDE believes that it has
already ended, which I have to say is completely unpredictable in Brazil.
If I open a Terminal, the DATE command shows the correct time and
identifies it as "BRDT" which is what I configured in /etc/localtime.
As a last resort, how do I configure KDE's time-zone and daylight saving
time. I believe that there should be only one such configuration... If I
set the correct time now (which I had to do) next week it will go wrong
again because of the "correct" time change...
Please help, I am using Mandriva2007 with KDE 3.5.4
thanks, in advance,
Alain
