In KDE4, in konsole if I do this

export DISPLAY=REMOTE:0

where REMOTE is the host to which i want the display to get exported.
After that if I do
xterm

the xterm opens fine in REMOTE but if I type konsole, another new
konsole opens in the localhost and not in REMOTE.
how to fix this problem?

I don't really know a lot about this since I only have one screen
running. Can't find the power cord for the other one.

Do you need to login to the remote display?
no, i have run xhost + on the remote display so any host can connect,
also if i type in "xterm" it opens in the remote display. but if i
open konsole it opens in the local display.

IAC, the first thing I would do is, in the xterm:

echo $DISPLAY

and see if it is the remote display.
yes it is the remote display
