[kde] DVD drive not seen in Mandriva KDE4

My laptop has Mandriva 2008.1. When I attempt to open any disk in Dolphin it
tells me that there is no entry for /dev/hdb in fstab. I thought that
udev/hal handled DVD drives these days?
Disks open perfectly well in KDE3 on the same laptop, and on KDE4 on my F9
box. What could be the problem (and fix)?
