I'm not sure why that appeared in the first place. I had not set it up - at
that point I hadn't found how to. However, it's clear that there is a
problem here concerned with icons. I realised later that the kwrite-type
icon was in the place where the delete icon should have been, so it's not
surprising that it closed when I clicked it.

Also, how do I add an activity?  Or will that be obvious once the
previous question is resolved? :-)

To add an activity, you have to click on the cashew to the top right, zoom
out, click the cashew again... now there should appear the option to add
activity. AFAIK, the capabilities around this feature is still unfinished.

Easy when you know how :-) but it took me a while to find it. Thanks
