I'm not saying I am not thankful for the work of the developers, I say I'd
be more grateful if they had worked another way, or actually if they had
not worked at all!

The KDE 3.5.10 source is still available, as are packages for openSUSE and
Debian. Nothing has been taken away from you. And, as far as KDE 3 is
concerned the developers haven't worked much, if at all.

All in all, I'd say you should be happy.
