Except for printing and magnification!
In features, with acroread, it is possible to print first the even numbered
pages in reverse order then, after placing the printed sheets text side

Can anyone find how to do this with Okular?

Odd/even page printing arrives for all KDE apps in 4.4 for CUPS on *nix only.
Reverse order already works. Voila.

Other print capabilities from acroread are scaling to paper size and
printing two copies of a single page side-by-side on one sheet (ideal for
fliers).

n-up printing is already supported, try the Pages tab in the print dialog. In
fact you can go up to 16 pages per sheet if your reading glasses are strong
enough :-)

Just a note, combining odd/even pages and n-up will produce unexpected
results!
