Re: [kde-linux] KDE4- Konqueror - certificates management ?

With kde3, you had a configuration option (systemsettings/konqueror) for
certificates (something like Security/Crypto) but with kde4 (4.3.2 here)
I don't find the(a similar) option anymore :-(

Is there with kleopatra ? I use some https sites but certificates are
apparently not managed with this tool.

The only thing I found it is the file ksslcertificatemanager in
/home/user/.kde4/share/config.

Question:
Where can I manage/see all certificates with
KDE4/Konqueror/Systemsettings/other ?

Thx per advance

Bug: KDE4 SSL Certificate support incomplete
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=162485

This is one of a number of reasons many of us on the kde lists contend
that, despite the public claims, kde sc 4 is /not/ ready for normal,
ordinary use, by normal, ordinary users. What sort of self-respecting
SSL support fails to have decent management thereof? It follows that kde
sc is not feature complete, which means it's not yet release candidate,
and may not even be beta, depending on how strict you wish to make your
definition. Expected and routinely used ssl features remain missing,
which is pretty bad for a product that people will be using for their
online banking, online purchases, etc.

Of course, normal ordinary people aren't really kde's target any more,
after the recently announced name change, etc, devs are. In that light,
the claims make more sense, as kde sc 4.3.4 /could/ be reasonably claimed
to be ready for ordinary /development/ use.

I've been predicting that 4.4 will finally make it to release candidate
status. We'll see in February, I guess. The bug above isn't closed yet,
but there has been some action on it, and the dev apparently behind the
ssl support infra seems to think it's all there, it only needs a UI and
he's not a UI guy, according to the bug, so hopefully one of the UI folks
picks up the issue and runs with it. (But I don't know... it's gotta be
getting pretty close to feature freeze for 4.4, not much time left.)

Please register an account with kde's bug tracker if necessary, and vote
for that bug. =:^/

Hi,

I have already an account but I didn't think that was a bug but a well hidden
new feature in kde4 :-)

I will read this report and vote for it ;-)

Thx again
A+
Raph
