[1.] One line summary of the problem:
System deadlock when trying to mount damaged cd media

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
When tried to mount one of my old cds (well it was a little bit
scrached), the mount process was stack and after a couple of seconds there
was no responce from the mouse/keyboard. As a mater of fact the keyboard
leds "Num/Caps/Scroll" start bliping and Ctrl+Alt+Backspace as well as
Ctrl+Alt+Del did not respond. The only solution was to reboot the system. On
another instance the same problem appeared, only this time the cd was
mounted succesfully but there was a problem with a spesific sector of the cd
    disk.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel):
         kernel?, modules?

    [4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version):
         Linux version 2.4.21 (root@Chr0n0s) (gcc version 3.2.2) #1 Sun Jun 29

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
    resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt): N/A

[6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the problem (if
    possible): N/A
