That's not my understanding and is (IMO) much of the reason for all the
discussion about the "gap" between Fedora & RHEL

    >From RH's own website:

"Red Hat's Enterprise Linux family of operating systems is available on
a per-system, annual subscription basis. The subscriptions are offered
in three editions: Basic, Standard, and Premium -- each with varying
support levels and delivery options -- so you can choose the
subscription combination that best meets the needs of your business.

I don't see that a subscription to RHEN gets you updates to RHEL.
AFAICT, the enterprise subscription level to RHN lets you have multiple
administrators, manage your servers in groups and whatnot, regardless of
whether you're running RHL or RHEL. With a basic RHN subscription you
manage each server individually and are allowed only one "administrator"
account for your RHN login. I think the naming of RHEL and RHEN has
    caused a *lot* of confusion.

I'd *love* to be wrong about all this - I can see paying $349/server as
a one time cost to purchase RHEL ES and then $96/year/server for RHEN to
keep them them updated. This is somewhat typical for other software -
you purchase the software for $X and a "maintenance" or "support"
contract is available for $Y/year, where $Y is a percentage of $X (as
opposed to the entire $X again each year.) Sometimes these contracts
includes version updates, sometimes not. Please note that I would NOT
expect support from RH at this price, just updates (errata RPM's)
delivered via RHN (or RHEN if you prefer). If I wanted support I'd have
to step up to the "standard" edition of RHEL ES for $799.

-Eric, who would like to be wrong about the pricing, but suspects he
    isn't. :-(
