    if i had a backup..i wouldn't be in this situation!!!!! well.. actually i
    would.. i wouldn't make backups every 3-4 hours.. so i would lose the
    incremental changes!!!! (arrrggghh!!!)

    as far as the filesystem.. not sure how to tell you that...

    if you want to tell me how to find the information, i'd be glad to get it
    for you...

    i have rh8.0, standard install....

    hmm, the easyiest way is to restore them from your backup tape. You do
    have a backup, do you?

    No, sorry, linux is a system for real men ;-)

    But yes, there are chances to get the stuff back, but it's not so easy.
    Please tell us, what kind of filesystem do you use?
