Also, I suggest you read my Sendmail SMTP AUTH HOWTO:
http://www.simpaticus.com/linux/sendmail-smtp-auth-howto.html
This will take all of 15 minutes, and will help you set things up so you
can relay mail through your server in reasonable safety while making sure
that you are not an "open relay" which could be abused by spammers.
