    Sorry, I should have specified; I am using rdesktop.

    I might try a created shortcut like you are using. I've been using the
    GNOME Remote Desktop tool (PXES RDC - see sourceforge.net). Perhaps the
    switches I'm selecting in the GUI aren't being applied due to permissions
    or something.
