Hi
if you are using lilo , just type CTR+x when lilo appears
if you are using grub, you have to hit “e” (for edit) when it
appears , and then add the word “single” in the second line.
Next type “b”.
this will open a single user session.
Then add this line to /etc/passwd
root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash
and
root::12477:0:99999:7:::
in your /etc/shadow file
