Good morning,
I've got a couple of new hire's here and I need to hook them up with
some books. What would be the best book on RedHat 7.3 to present to a
complete beginner who has absolutely no UNIX/Linux knowledge at all?

It is generally *much* more useful, when one gets nervous, to go and look at some actual books by actual writers, books you like that you think are similar to the one you have written, and observe what those writers actually did, than it is to garner a lot of mutually contradictory writing advice from a lot of unreliable sources. ... Robert Heinlein captures me with his writing style.... So, isn't a "hook" any combination of writing style, story line, or character that engages the reader? ... Re: Who needs a good opening? ... foriegn to my mindset as a reader.... but not if you are trying to hook a publisher or agent on ... A lot of the books I used to read were plain hard backed books ... without their dust jackets.... (rec.arts.sf.composition)
