    ia64 is NOT the same thing as x86_64. Your uname -a output shows that your machine is an x86_64. You need to
    use rpms for the architecture you are running on.

    The easiest way for you to get the right packages for your architecture and OS is to use up2date and pull
    the rpms you need straight from rhn.
