Yes, sorry, when I referred to console I meant the GUI login when I'm
actually at the server. I believe it was set up to use gnome. Thank you
for the additional path to follow....

It sounds like you're using a GUI login?

If so, assuming it's gdm, take a look at "gdmsetup", select the "help"
button and scroll down tillyou see "InfoMsgFile".

This is from an Fedora Core Machine so yours may vary ..
