upgrade Redhat AS 3.4 to 3.6 problem?

I tried to upgrade Redhat AS 3.4 to 3.6 and failed.
The procedures I am doing are:

1. download software from redhat and make CD

2. put 3.6 CD and boot up server

3. on first installation screen type "linux
updates"

it still bring me to the "new installation" screen.
I don't know what I am wrong. Does there has special
update CD other than new install CD?
