problem mounting filesystem

Check your /etc/mtab file. Looks like you somehow already have a
record for /home2 /dev/hdd1 there.
[root aa2 ~]# mount /home2
mount: /dev/hdd1 already mounted or /home2 busy
[root aa2 ~]# mount /dev/hdd1
mount: /dev/hdd1 already mounted or /home2 busy
[root aa2 ~]# umount /dev/hdd1
umount: /dev/hdd1: not mounted
root aa2 ~]#
