Hi Guys! Thanks for your inputs and sorry to ask this question in Linux
mailing list.
In the meantime i found that there is a group called "shutdown" in AIX and i
just had to add the users in that group for them to shutdown the machine and
that worked.

We are using AIX 5.2, on this non previlaged users are not able to
shutdown the machine, what permissions are to be changed for the non
