Re: AW: up2date failed on WS4.0 after upgrade

Thanks for your advice Joe and Jos. I upgraded the box from CDs, so
packages are not the latest version, but I see the following rpms
installed:

I think both rpms(the version found on the CDs) are installed:
[root@bmw ~]# rpm -qa |grep up2date
up2date-gnome-4.4.67-3
up2date-4.4.67-3
[root@bmw ~]# rpm -qa |grep rhn
rhn-applet-2.1.24-2
rhnlib-1.8.2-1.p22.1
[root@bmw ~]#

Should I directly get up2date-4.4.67-4 ? If so, any dependencies ?

Thanks,
yasushi

=== other rpms ===
[root@bmw ~]# rpm -qa |grep rpm
rpm-python-4.3.3-11_nonptl
rpm-build-4.3.3-11_nonptl
rpmdb-redhat-4-0.20051001
redhat-rpm-config-8.0.32.1-1
rpm-devel-4.3.3-11_nonptl
rpm-4.3.3-11_nonptl
rpm-libs-4.3.3-11_nonptl

Hi Yasushi,

did you downloaded the latest up2date-rpm (at rhn, you'll find something
like up2date-4.4.67-4.i386.rpm)... Install this direct:

root@linux # rpm -Uvf up2date-4.4.67-4.i386.rpm

Then clean up the "/var/spool/up2-date"-directory... This should work.

cu,
Joe

BTW: If the doens't work: the update from 3 to 4 is (as far as I know) not
supported by redhat.. so the "last exit" would be a complete new
install...

Hi, I just upgraded one WS3.0 box to WS4.0 (U2).
And up2date failed with following errors:
Could someone advise me what is wrong ?
It looks like missing some rpms, but could you find any yet.

Thanks,
yasushi
