This is the current DL360 model is actually the DL360p. You may
thatpublished
they released the DL360p (performance) model shortly after PCMag
benchmarks proving the Dell 1850 was a faster box. The DL360p was64-
intended
to re-take the lead from Dell:
In any event, details on the currently shipping DL360p:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12166_na/12166_na.html
As you'll note, the above says;
"64-bit Intel(r) Xeon(tm) processors supporting 64-bit extension and
bitwhich
Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems"
Please note that the DL360 has been using Intel Xeon DP processors
support Intel's EM64T extensions for quite some time now. This is nota
recent development. The DL380 mentioned elsewhere in this thread alsothe
uses
the same processors. We have a few hundred of each.
Since there are also some comments about Opteron, I will tell you that
DL385 _Opteron_ based system _blows_the_doors_off_ the DL360/DL380Xeon's
for very high percentage of our apps in both short and long modes (32or
64bit modes that is...) There are a few apps we have where theOpterons
are not faster or optimal for what we do, but there are not many.
I started buying DL385's for my environment middle of last year and have
never looked back. I just got a few dual core 2.6GHz systems in waiting
to be deployed.
We primarily run Oracle on them (RAC) and data processing applications
that are pretty memory bandwidth dependent.
Btw, if someone missed it AMD had bad batch of CPU's with an FPU bug
shipped last year. HP will dispatch someone to test the CPU's and
replace them if needed.
the
Good luck.

I'll have to double check the 360 g4, but definitely the 380 g4's are
running xeon processors.

Hp proliant's g4 models (dl360, 380) run great; they have xeon

You sure? The DL360 and DL380 systems are 32-bit... The DL385 is
64-bit Opteron-based. There is no 64-bit DL360 replacement model yet.
